Womenesyé Hair Maintenance Guide

Having the perfect hair care routine and realistic expectations is vital, especially if you want your hair to remain beautiful for years. Whether you’re a new customer or trying out a new texture, we’re here to guide you through the process. Keep reading for everything you need to know about caring for your Womenesyé hairpieces.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR WOMENESYÉ HAIRPIECES

Remember, you’ve invested in human hair, which behaves like your natural hair! Sourced from human scalps, it requires similar care and attention. Setting realistic expectations is key, especially with curly textures that demand more maintenance. Without proper care, you might experience disappointment.

PRE-INSTALLATION CARE

Before installation, it’s helpful to give your hairpieces a co-wash while the binding strips remain intact. This allows you to thoroughly inspect the bundles. If you notice any irregularities, contact us immediately, and we’ll address them promptly.

Installation Tips

It’s important to start with clean, tangle-free hair when installing any type of hairpiece. Here are some tips for each type of hairpiece we offer:

Weave Extensions:

When installing your weave extensions, we recommend not cutting your bundle into pieces but rather folding it double during the installation process. The weave extensions should always be sewn around the tracks, and never pierced through, as this can break the weft and cause hair loss.

Lace Wigs:

If you have long hair, it’s advisable to create cornrows for a flat base under your wig. Clean the skin at your hairline with alcohol if you plan to glue the wig, ensuring your lace wig stays securely in place.

Tape-In Extensions:

Make sure your hair is dry and free of products before starting the installation. This helps ensure a strong bond with the tape. Avoid washing your hair immediately after installation, as this can weaken the tape’s bond. Also, avoid using oils or oil-based products near the tape, as this can reduce adhesion.

Clip-In Extensions:

Start at the bottom of your head and work your way up. Divide your hair into horizontal sections and use hair clips to make the process easier. Open the clips and attach them to the bottom of a hair section as close to your scalp as possible.

Ponytail Extensions:

Put your hair into a tight ponytail at the desired height. If your hair doesn’t match the ponytail extension, we recommend braiding the end of your ponytail. Place the ponytail extension over your natural ponytail, ensuring the clip or comb is firmly secured in your ponytail. Wrap the Velcro of the ponytail around your ponytail and use a pin to secure the hair.

Flip-In Extensions:

Place the flip-in extension on your head, ensuring the wire rests like a crown on top of your head. You can adjust the wire to make it tighter or looser. Carefully pull small sections of your natural hair over the wire with a tail comb to cover the extension, ensuring it’s securely attached and looks natural. Close the clips at the back of the flip-in extensions.
Weekly Maintenance Routine

We recommend co-washing your hair once a week with a suitable conditioner. This helps keep your hair hydrated and removes buildup that can cause tangling or pollution. Avoid piling the hair on your head or in the sink. The hair should always be washed from top to bottom. Rinse the hair thoroughly and use a leave-in conditioner.

Use an argan oil serum once a week to keep the hair shiny and healthy. Apply the serum from mid-length to the ends.

Use a wide-tooth comb to detangle the hair, starting gently from the ends and working your way up. Avoid pulling on the hair.
Always use a heat protectant when styling with heat to prevent damage. Limit the heat to a maximum of 180 degrees Celsius.
For wavy and curly textures, it’s advisable to use a moisturizer daily to keep it hydrated. Only detangle this hair when it’s damp.

Before bed, tie your hair in a high ponytail or bun to preserve its texture and minimize frizz. Use a satin or silk pillowcase for extra protection.

We recommend using hydrating conditioners and styling products to retain moisture and reduce frizz. Choose products that are sulfate- and alcohol-free.

Lace products are delicate and should be handled with care.
